Seeds of Heaven is a novel in the tradition of High Fiction, a tradition that goes back to Homer and before, when tellers of tales sat around fires at night and recounted stories that mixed myth, metaphor, and history on a grand scale.

Homer didn't invent the Iliad or the Odyssey. He wove the tales that had been told to him into new forms. In a similar fashion, a movie like Rocky Horror Picture Show depends as much for its popularity on the contributions of its audience as the actual events on screen. The same is true, to a lesser degree, of the Star Trek television series and even Harry Potter and Star Wars. Stories which resonate depend as much on the ears which hear them as the voices which tell the tales.
